The Case of the Missing Stained Glass Logo: We need your help!
Submitted by Beverly Dance
Congregants, friends, neighbors, and fellow admirers of wonderfully translucent objects: we need your help.
Sometime between “I swear I put it right here” and “perhaps someone has developed an overwhelming desire for decorative glass,” a beautiful stained glass piece went missing. It was our Epworth logo. If you are not sure what our logo looks like, look at the white swirl on the blue background on the Welcome! and the Prayer cards just to the left of “Welcome Everyone to the Love of God." The cards are on the back of the pews.
It was last seen minding its own business hung on the glass wall outside the office, catching the light, and making the rest of the space at the base of the Hopkins stairs look slightly underdressed.
We have interviewed the usual suspects: the table, the stairs, the box labeled “definitely not stained glass,” and two suspiciously silent corners. So far, no one is talking.
If you happen to spot this stray stained glass piece lurking in an unexpected location, at SFO going on or returning from vacation, glowing dramatically in a beam of sunlight, or pretending to be part of your own décor (or more likely the décor of someone you’ve visited), please let us know. We will gladly welcome it back WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED! Well, we might ask, but you don’t have to answer!! We just want to rehang it for all to enjoy. Please help us with this quest. Thank you.
