PRAYER CHAIN
What is a prayer chain?
A prayer chain is a group of people committed to praying for a specific reason or person for a predetermined period of time. Typically, a prayer chain starts with one person who shares a prayer need with the group, then the request is passed along to the members of the group to pray over.
Join a Prayer Chain
If you are seeking to begin a new spiritual discipline this season of Lent, consider joining Epworth’s Confidential Prayer Chain. Everyone on our prayer chain understands what we learn via the prayer chain stays completely confidential.
A Prayer Chain Reflection :
Here are a few thoughts about our prayer chain topic from a long-time member.
"I postponed signing up for the prayer chain because I had no experience with a prayer chain (email/electronic or otherwise). My imagination thought it might be a daily or even more-than-once-a-day prayer request and that it could maybe be an email with multiple requests (as in, perhaps, all the prayer requests for the past week, month, etc.) all in the same email that would arrive once a day (I thought it could be a little overwhelming). It has been a good experience since I signed on and wish that I had signed on earlier. Also, I’m glad I signed on to the prayer chain without knowing what to expect."
Nature of Prayer Request
The frequency of prayer requests is quite varied. It can be three in a single day or none for weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss this before committing yourself. Once you sign-up, if you want to discontinue, merely sending me an email with that sentiment will do the trick.
