In Loving Memory of Jonn Bi

We are saddened to announce the passing of beloved Epworth staff member and nursery care coordinator, Jonn Bi.  Jonn worked in the nursery for 25 years, beginning in 2000, and during that time, has been in close relationship with several generations of Epworth families, their babies and toddlers.

Jonn went way beyond just being a physical presence in the nursery.  Drawing on her vast experience as a preschool teacher, she greeted Epworth children each week with a warm welcome and an invitation to enjoy a variety of arts and crafts.  Over the years, Jonn worked with other caregivers, most recently Anna Buendia.  In earlier years, Epworth high schoolers worked alongside her, gaining experience in childcare and child development.

Patty Favini, parent of two young children, shares this testimony: 

Jonn was always so welcoming and happy to see us, and gave Noa a boost of confidence that she was welcome and wanted at church.

Noa had never been to school before she started at the nursery. It was a big step for her. And as parents, we felt really lucky that she could have that first step be with Jonn at Epworth. 

Jonn always had different activities planned and Noa loved doing them so much, she honestly wasn’t sure she wanted to move up to Godly Play. I always felt how much she really cared about the kids.  

We will miss Jonn, her warm smile, kindness and steady presence. Her memory will always be a blessing for us.”
