How Are the Children?
This is the third Christmas Season since the Gaza War began. The children of Bethlehem continue to suffer as conditions worsen. As the Christmas season approaches, Bethlehem faces an unprecedented economic and humanitarian crisis. The cancellation of work permits, settler violence, and the collapse of tourism have left thousands of families without income, directly impacting the food security and safety of the city's children.
Revoked Work Permits are not being Restored...
Parents unable to access jobs in Israel, cutting primary income sources.
Tourism Revenue Loss continues..
Hotels and souvenir shops empty during peak Christmas season.
Child Food Insecurity continues... loss of income causes families to rely on humanitarian aid for daily meals.
Settler Violence reaches record levels in 2025... children have been physically attacked, crops destroyed, and families displaced.
Let's Create Ripples of Hope for the Children this Christmas
The Dominican Sisters of St. Josephs Center in Bethlehem has set a goal of providing gifts for the children and food for a Christmas Dinner for 100 food insecure families. They are developing local resources to make this happen and have invited us to join them by providing funds to fill their resource gap. On the Sundays in December leading up to Christmas, you can select a family and donate $10 for a child's gift, or $20 for ingredients for a Christmas Dinner with meat. There will be keffiyehs and handicrafts from Bethlehem as well, with proceeds going to the Ripples of Hope Christmas project.
You can also donate to the Bethlehem Ministry here.
