15 older adults gathered at Epworth last week to enjoy time together creating art and deepening friendships and support. Activities included painting with acrylics, led by renown local muralist, Edythe Boone, creating collage art cards with Epworth Artist-in-Residence Clark Kellogg, learning to marbleize paper, making creations out of Sculpey (polymer clay), baking scones and traveling to Berkeley Bowl on a public bus (Note: you can get a good cup of coffee there for a quarter if you are over 65!). It was a pleasure spending time with this group of creative, supportive, engaging folks. A special thanks to youth Jordan Jerrels, Lucia Castanega and Alina McVey, for their help as counselors. We couldn't run this camp without them!
An idea is floating around to have occasional one day camps during the year, and to host an October one or two day camp, with a focus on holiday gift making. Please contact me if you are interested in attending or helping with a craft!
With gratitude to Epworth,
