An Invitation from the Environmental Crisis Response Team (ECRT)

Unbeknownst perhaps to many of you, Epworth UMC has been a member of CA Interfaith Power & Light (CIPL), whose stated mission is “inspire and mobilize people of faith and conscience to take bold and just action on climate change,” the most pressing environmental challenge of our time. As it does every year, CIPL is again holding its Faith Climate Action Week, April 17-26 this year, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22.

One of the events planned is the screening of the movie "The Human Element." Because of the crisis we are in, the screening is now being offered free online. You need to register by visiting https://www.faithclimateactionweek.org/ so you receive information to view the film.

The Environmental Crisis Response Team is encouraging the congregation during these days of sheltering in to freely screen the documentary "The Human Element," sponsored by CIPL and other faith based environmental groups during Earth Week.

Stay tuned for a zoom discussion group about the film.

For now, check out these questions for reflection and action post-film viewing. Please feel free to share those reflections, actions and other ideas with the ECRT as you feel called to do so. Send them for now to ECRT chair, MaAn, at revmaan.berkeleyca@gmail.com.

Thank you very much. In our shared love for Earth – MaAn & the ECRT
