Sanctuary Action Update 10/14

Opportunity to Support Migrants being held by ICE in Matamoros, Mexico

Pepper Black is a friend of Dianne Rush Woods who is actively involved in Bay Area Border Relief (BABR). Pepper met one of Epworth's teams at the Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, TX, last year. She and others on the Crisis Triage Team from USF are about to drive another truckload of supplies to Matamoros, Mexico, across the river from Brownsville, TX. This is where over 3,000 migrants are being held by ICE as they await their U.S. immigration court dates. They live in squalid tent camps or on the streets, and rely heavily on donated food and supplies.

BABR urgently needs cash donations to purchase food and other urgent supplies for the migrants. Pepper and her team are bringing clothing, blankets, school and art supplies, and will need to purchase more there. BABR is affiliated with the Philanthropic Ventures Foundation (PVF). Please contribute to this work by making a tax-deductible donation at http://bit.ly/BABRatPVF
