Odette Lockwood-Stewart, Pastor

The Reverend Odette Lockwood-Stewart has served for 33 years in parish and campus ministries in California. A graduate of Boston University School of Theology (M. Div., Summa cum Laude), she served local churches in Boston, Los Angeles and San Leandro and campus ministries at the University of California at San Francisco, UCLA, San Diego State University and University of California at Berkeley.

She is beginning her seventh year as pastor of Epworth.

Odette is passionate about faith formation and justice education ministries. She came to Epworth from the Pacific School of Religion where she served as Director of Contextual Education. Rev. Lockwood-Stewart served for five years as Chair of the Order of Elders of the California-Nevada Annual Conference United Methodist Church, and chaired the Delegation to General Conference in 2008. She is author of published articles, sermons, curricula and devotional resources.

She and her husband, Rev. Jim Lockwood-Stewart, have four grown children, and six grandchildren.
