As the Spring season barrels ahead and I’m spinning in many directions, I am reminded of the value of simple centeredness. Noticing my breath reminds me that my being is in process, and that I am connected to a network of life. Taking a moment to slow down and notice that breath can work wonders.
I learned recently that when our Epworth youth decided to volunteer at the Alameda County Food Bank, they were turned away because there wasn’t enough food to sort! It reminds me that in all our doing, need knows no season, and hunger never takes a break.
We have an opportunity to support the Food Bank by dropping non-perishable food items in the barrel outside the Epworth office. You may also donate to the Alameda County Food Bank directly online at donate@accfb.org
I am thankful for the hearts of service and compassion here at Epworth May we notice every breath and count every blessing this week.
Peace,
Brian
