Music is a joyous and vital part of worship at Epworth, led by Church Musician Jerry Asheim.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings a wide range of music: gospel, classical, contemporary, and spirituals. Handbells, drums and other instruments often enrich the organ or piano in accompaniment.
Join the choir for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.
Pipe Organ
Enjoy the beauty and power of Epworth’s newly-restored pipe organ with organist Jerry Asheim. Other instrumental soloists and ensembles frequently add to the musical experience in worship.
Children’s choir
Epworth’s children welcome us to Worship every Sunday with the Welcome Song. Other songs are rehearsed for performance at Children’s Chapel.
Jammin’ Methodists
Jammin’ Methodists gather in the sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of the month to play a wide variety of instruments—guitar, drums, flute, violin, tambourine—or to sing along. Everyone is welcome to join in or just listen. Come and make music and friends. This is an informal jam with voice and instruments of all kinds.
Jammin’ Methodists have been known to perform at rallies and at wedding receptions and frequently add to the worship music experience.
ART
Art installations in the sanctuary during Lenten & Advent seasons are coordinated by church artist-in-residence Clark Kellogg. The art is often a community-created project in which everyone is invited to participate and that unfolds in stages under Clark’s inspired direction. Children also create art for Children’s Chapel during Lent and Advent.
Epworth Music and Arts Ministry
